Biography

Anthony Fabio, MPH, PhD, joined the faculty of the Department of Neurological Surgery and the Center for Injury Research and Control (CIRCL) in May 2000. He was named associate director of CIRCL in February 2008.

Dr. Fabio’s main area of interest includes understanding the social causes and correlates of violence as well as the community and individual level correlates of violence trends and was awarded a training fellowship to study these areas from the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.

Dr. Fabio also works in a variety of other areas, including traumatic bran injury and the study of suicide in borderline personality disorder patients, providing epidemiologic support. He has ten years of practical experience in injury prevention and control. Dr. Fabio received a masters of public health and a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public Health.
